Alteo is looking for a Systems Administrator for a permanent position based in Montreal.

You will be responsible for overseeing system administration and internal technical support. This key role includes managing internal IT infrastructure, maintaining systems and services, and providing technical support to users. You will also be expected to supervise a junior IT technician, who will ensure effective technical support and continuous improvement of IT operations.

Responsibilities:

• System administration: Ensuring the installation, configuration, maintenance and security of computer systems (Windows, Linux, networks, servers, etc.).
• Security and compliance: Implementing best practices in cybersecurity and managing access and updates.
• Internal infrastructure management: Ensuring the proper functioning of workstations, networks, servers and collaborative tools.
• Automation and continuous improvement: Identify and implement solutions to automate and optimize systems and support management.
• Technical support: Manage level 2 user support, resolve incidents and optimize troubleshooting processes.
• Supervision and management: Support a junior IT technician, supervise his/her activities and promote his/her professional development.

Profile:

• AEC/DEC in IT or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant IT experience
• 3+ years of system administration experience (Windows and Unix/Linux)
• Expertise in technical support and IT infrastructure management
• In-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a sense of initiative and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, etc.) (asset)
• Experience with virtualization and configuration management tools (asset)
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and SSO (asset)
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, SOC2 compliance and related infrastructure tools (asset)
• Experience in technical supervision (mentoring) (asset)

• Encadrement et gestion : Accompagner un technicien informatique junior, superviser ses activités et favoriser son développement professionnel.

Profil:

• DEC en TI ou l'équivalent
• 5+ années d’expérience pertinente en TI
• 3+ années d’expérience en administration système (Windows et Unix/Linux)
• Expertise en support technique et en gestion d’infrastructures TI
• Connaissance approfondie des systèmes Unix/Linux et Windows
• Excellentes compétences en communication et en résolution de problèmes, un sens de l’initiative et une bonne autonomie.
